I'm Derek Hutchuk, a passionate landscape designer and the proud owner of Hutchuk's Construction (HUTCON). My journey in the industry started back in 2005, when I was still in high school and launched a small lawn mowing and maintenance business. What began as a simple side hustle quickly grew into something much bigger as I discovered my love for shaping outdoor spaces.
Determined to expand my skills, I pursued formal education in Environmental Protection & Management at Durham College and Landscape Design/Architecture at Fanshawe College, learning the techniques and artistry needed to bring outdoor designs to life. That led to the creation of Hutchuk’s Landscaping and Design, where I combined hands-on experience with creative vision to build stunning landscapes.
Over the years, my business evolved as I took on bigger projects and honed my expertise. Today, Hutchuk’s Construction (HUTCON) offers a wide range of services, including landscaping, hardscaping, excavation, demolition, land clearing, and interior renovations. I take pride in creating outdoor spaces that are both functional and beautiful, always striving for quality, craftsmanship, and innovation in everything I do.
